Beach retirement

A beach-themed retirement cake for a friend who is moving away. Inspired by sugarshack's beautiful cake! All fondant. I am a Critique Subgroup Member.

critique subgroup member: OMG...I love this cake. DD's class is having a beach party at the end of the school year. If the teacher askes for another cake, I might be asking to copy this one. I love all of the fondant critters. The sand castle/bucket on the top are priceless. The sun and palm tree are so cool. There is NOTHING I can say except that I LOVE everything about this cake. WELL DONE!!!!

Critique group member: Your design and excecution is wonderful! Especially like the palm trees and the sun. Only critique I have is wish I couldn't see the foil. Your fondant is perfectly applied.

critique subgroup member: This is just perfect. It's so cute and the fondant is beautifully applied. I guess a ribbon around the edge of the board would have been nice, but this is going into my favorites.

Critique Subgroup Member.. I love it!! The little critters are wonderful and att the details are great. If I had to be picky.. I'd say the cake board could have been a little thicker and finished so you couldn't see the foil, but that's being REALLY picky.

Hi I have no clue on making cakes and I REALLY want to know how to make them!!!! Okay how does the fondant taste I heard it doesn't taste very good, but it looks beautiful!! so do you make your own or what and how, Like I said I have no clue on cakes and where to start, and what did you use to make the "sand" That is a beautiful cake!!! 8O
