My first doll cake. Had to use a couple of rounds under the wondermold because the barbie was so tall. I think the barbie really made the cake. She's so pretty compared to those doll picks.

Wow! Beautiful job! I agree that the barbie dolls looks way better than the doll picks. I think you could have made it pretty either way, though!

Very nice work. I agree about the doll instead of the pick. My fear is that some little girl will be traumatized when she pulls the doll out and the doll has no legs! Horror! Beautiful cake, I love your bodice :D

Beautiful!!! The best doll cake I have seen in a long time :D Love the double layers on the skirt!! How did you do it? Is it round and then "collected" where the flowers are? Love the flowers too by the way. Might have to copy this design for a doll cake order I have this weekend...

yes, cakehelp. It was round and then I pinched it where the gathers are. I placed little ribbon roses over the pinches.

if you're using a real barbie, you need to add an extra 8" round under the wondermold pan. also, you need to carve a pretty wide hole to accommodate those curvy hips she's got. Other than that, have fun! Be creative! You CAN TOO do it!!!
