Frangipani Birthday Cake

This was my very first cake after cake deco class 1. The frangipanis are made out of modelling (sugar) paste. It was made for a friend's 23rd birthday.

Very pretty! I tried making frangipanis and they didn't work out. Hubby said I needed them thicker. After looking at yours maybe he was right.

I have never heard of frangipanis! It looks like a tropical flower!!? Is that a rounded cake pan? Last but not least....GORGEOUS!!!!

Thanks for all the lovely comments :-) Yes its a fabric ribbon, a combination of two ribbons (light and dark yellow) which I bought in Lincraft, Sydney Australia. Yes, its a rounded cake pan - 20cm by 9.5cm. Thanks again!
