An Audition
This is a copy of a beautiful cake by peggylicious (hers is much better!). I got a chance to try out for a part time cake decorating job at a very big hotel here on Long Island, so I needed a design I thought I could pull off in an afternoon in their kitchen. I don't think it's my best work, because I was rushing to keep up a professional pace, and I don't think I'm ready to work in such a hectic atmosphere. But if was a worthwhile experience anyway, and I'm glad I got the opportunity.
I think it's awesome!!! Great job!
Beautiful. Love the little flowers. Did you pipe them or are they gumpaste?
It addorable!!!! :princess: :princess: :princess: :princess:
The little flowers are very tiny "Duff roses", made with 3 circles of the fondant (from the middle tier) and rolled together till the petals spread a bit. I let them dry a bit while I took lunch and piped the vines, and they were dry enough to handle.
Very elegant!
I adore Peggy's work and recognized this immediately. You did a fantastic job on this...your colors are gorgeous! ;-D
You did a beautiful job! LOVE it! What size layers did you use?
Beautiful!!
The tiers are 8", 10", 12". If I'd baked them myself, I might have chosen a smaller top tier and slightly larger difference between the sizes.
