Sailboat

Sailboat on Cake Central

This was for a 50th birthday party...a replica of the man's sailboat. I needed 50 servings so I got the idea to do the wave crest. Everything is cake except for the bow of the boat and a small piece at the back of the boat. The sail was gumpaste, and over 2 ft tall!

You guys are too kind!! Thanks so much for the comments. I actually transported it assembled b/c it was close to my house.... The sail is supported by a dowel that's glued on perpendicular to the main mast. It's also tied to the mast at 5 different points along the sail.

I've never seen anything like it! Perfect in every detail. I especially love the water. How did you do that??

Wonderful looking cake.  Your cake would make a birthday cake for a model boat maker like my husband and his fellow model boat members
