Counting Sheep
This was my entry for the Mid-Atlantic Cake Show - I didn't place but had alot of fun! There were some awesome cakes there!! There are a total of 12 sheep in different poses all around the cake. One of them playing poker is holding the Dead Man's Hand - A's & 8's. :) Sheep and man are fondant/RI. The picture is Photoshopped to cut out some of the background. I am a Critique Subgroup Member.

My daughter (she's 7) and I LOVED this cake at the show! There is a "short" on tv called Shawn the Sheep and your sheep look just like him! They're adorable! Great job. ;-D
Critique subgroup member: This is a wonderful design! the modeling is excellent. Yes, I do see the fondant flaws, and some of the characters are hanging over the board. So if I made this, I would have used a bigger board and added more decorating styles to show skill level for a intermediate, and perhaps a lighter green there is some sort of unwritten rule about covering cakes with such dark colors, should be for accents only. But overall this is darling!!!!!!!!
critique member: wow! This is really cool! I really love all the different color sheep. I think all the faces are priceless...can you tell I like this cake? I do agree with tiptop on the bigger board..you may have been able to do a little more with the bottom. But, I love the design, your guy in bed is great too! :D
Thank you for all the nice comments. I agree about the cakeboard - I only had a few days to put this together and had to use what i had - I couldn't get a larger drum shipped in time.

Critique subgroup member: I think this is just great! I love love love the sheep! I love the one looking at his watch especially. They all are so adorable The only thing I would have done was add just one more flower just to the left of the sheep w/watch either that or center the sheep a bit more. Other than that little nit picky detail everything about this is perfect!!!!!

I saw this at the cake show and just loved it! The sheep have such great expressions. My kids love Russell the sheep...this reminded all of us of it.

OMG! This is so adorable! I love this cake, I faved it straight away! I love the sheeps - their different postures and expressions, and I love the topper, too. How did you make them hold the cards? Did you make the cards first as one item, dried it, and stuck it to the sheeps' hands?? How interesting! Well done!
