Thanks! I got a Nicholas Lodge book for instructions and used a pasta machine to thin the gumpaste, which helped tremendously.

Critique Subgroup Member: What a beautiful cake! I love the fallen rose petals and your roses are gorgeous and the leaves are so lifelike. Perfect fondant on the cake and board. Two suggestions: I would have added one more thickness to the board to get it as tall as the ribbon and my eye wants something on the top, like maybe a rosebud or even a few petals. Love the color combination! Very, very pretty!

critique subgroup member: beautiful cake! i love your roses and the color of the ribbon is very pretty. i love the idea of the fallen petals. i think the strong presence of the stems and leaves is a little distracting. i agree about needing something on the top too and the cake board should be thicker to fit the ribbon. i think it's gorgeous! well done!

Critique subgroup member: Lovely design, your colors are stunning & the understated simplicity is so nice to see on CC. I agree with the others needing something on top but as it is a dummy cake leaving it open gives a bride the opportunity to place her monogram/etc there. As for the ribbon, I'm thinking it is the color you wanted & couldn't find it in 1/2 inch size? Anyway, 2 things either cut down the ribbon with a ribbon cutter used for floral tape or even the top & tape the bottom under the cake drum.

Critique Subgroup Member: Beautiful! Something on top and maybe the ribbon thing as said earlier. The roses are perfect and I simply love the presentation. You did a great job. I truly appreciate the work you out in to this!!!!!!!

Thanks, everyone! This was one of the easiest cakes I've done. With regard to the bottom ribbon: I knew it looked funny but I just wasn't sure what to do about it. I had no idea I could cut it horizontally and not look shabby. I love the idea of a thicker cake drum (2 stacked and glued would have solved my problem). Shirl, the table and china is in my new Cake Studio, which I just opened for tastings and to show off my displays. :D

critique subgroup member: I love the color combinations of this cake. Your fondant is very nice and smooth, and your roses are fantastic! the only thing that sticks out for me, is that the top tier seems too tall??? May just be my eyes??
