In: Colette Peters Style Cake in album: Whimsical / Topsy-Turvy Cakes
I made this for a local restaurant. They had the customers put their names in for a drawing. Sizes are 10"(styrofoam), 8"(cake), 6"(styrofoam), and 4"(cake). Covered in fondant, painted with luster dust, accents and flowers are gumpaste. Cake was caramel with chocolate filling.

The man that bought it LOVED IT!!!! There was a girl that walked by and said to her dad "that cake looks SOOO plastic" LOL!!! Thanks girl, that's a compliment to me!! hahaha Everyone just loved it! They thought it was the greatest most fun and funky cake they'd ever seen! I was very happy with it!! :)

Not only does this look good, but it sounds good, too! You really did a fantastic job! Love the alternating stripes on the tiers!

CSM: this is such a fun cake! The lines could be a little cleaner, but that's such a hard thing to achieve. Try using a ruler and applying clear gel to the sides of the lines to create a grid. Still, it's a fantastic cake- i love the color choices and the whole design. I bet the winner was so excited! :)

CSM: This is awesome!! Only critique I have are a couple of your lines are kind of off, the horizontal ones, but that's it!!

CSM: This is so cute! I agree about what the others said about the lines.

CSM: Great design, I like the colors you used, its very fun overall

CSM: very interesting cake! love the fantasy flowers which match so well to the ruffles! I have to agree on the lines, I think it would have been nice if they had been fondant strips vs painted lines??

CSM: Wow..You spent some time painting those lines! 8O :o ..What a job!..I think is pretty. Painting lines is not an easy task.. Usually when I paint them I have to finish the edges with maybe a small pearl border to clean the edges.. Overall you did a fantastic job! :D

CSM: I really LOVE the polka-dot flowers and ruffles. They look awesome with that hot pink. Good job on the cake. It's very cute.

CSM: Very interesting design!!! Quite colorful too! A ribbon around the pink board would have been a nice touch. Aside from the flowers and the topper, I am not a fan of this cake.

CSM: I have yet to attempt a topsy turvey... What a fun cake! Love the colors and the fantasy flowers/topper. I agree about the lines, but great job regardless!

CSM: you did a really great job with this one, but I'm not a fan of all the "poppyseed" dots. The tilt on the top is great, but looks inconsistent with the lesser tilting on the bottom. Love, love, love the ruffles -- that's excellent. To be picky, you might want to straighten the painted lines a bit, but that's being super picky. Another great cake!

CSM: Holy Cow! What a cake! Love the colors, dots and stripes. I love that the lines aren't perfect...adds to the whole whimsical feel of the cake. The top tier seems a bit tall compared to the other cakes, but maybe that is just an illusion. I'm not fond of the polka dot ruffle on the 2nd tier...I might have left that off. I love love love your cake topper from the flowers to the snail looking thing and the pointy stick. Very fun, very whimsical! Great job.
