Thanks for the comments! On the fans, I cut strips of gumpaste 1 inch wide by 3 inches long, then (this is hard to explain) laid it on its edge and bent it accordian style, then pinched one end. While holding the pinched end, I fanned out the other end. Now that I am trying to explain this, it would be so much easier if I took pictures because it was SO much easier than I am making it sound, I promise!!! :D

I love the fan idea. I wonder if it would work cutting rounds, then half them and then fold into fans.
