White cakes with buttercream icing. I tried out a new icing recipe from the Taste of Baking Book. It was very airy and holey. Maybe I beat it too long. It did taste nice though.

The color is so wonky in this picture. I don't know why the top layer is so much darker. I wish I had stacked the cakes first (before piping the designs). They ended up being so uneven. I've always loved the blue and white cakes that I've seen here and elsewhere. Anyway, I got carried away with piping doodads all over. I was trying to even it up. Ha!

This is really pretty. I love the color. I hadn't noticed anything uneven or wonky before reading your comment!

Thank you both. I wasn't sure if I should upload this picture. I made it a few weeks ago, and I finally figured that the good outweighed the bad- so here I am... I'm babbling again. Thanks again!

Thanks! I wanted a stencil! I tried to use the pinprick method that I had read about in the forum, but it just didn't work out. Thanks again!

Don't feel bad. I watched an "expert" pipe designs on a 4-tier wedding cake, and believe me, it wasn't perfect, but when you looked at the entire cake, it was stunning. Your cake is stunning! :D
