Pink Hydrangea Wedding Cake
I really love Elisa Strauss and this was inspired by her beautiful white hydrangea cake. I found out at the last minute that the wedding was 3 hours EARLIER than I had thought so, I didn't have time to make it as clean and detailed as I would have liked. I wasn't sure how the colors were going to come together but, it worked! TFL!
wow! This is gorgeous. Did you put a mound of icing or something under the hydrangeas to get them to come off of the cake like real blooms? I'm stunned! I just can't stop staring at it :D
Thank you! I used balls of fondant and flatted them on one side, iced them, put short skewers through them and then placed them on/into the cake. I iced them in pink icing and that held the flowers in place! :)
