This is a beautiful "rustic" kind of cake. It's unusual and I have to admit that I stared at it awhile before I could decide whether or not I really liked the style. I concluded that it reminds me of a giant lonely oak that has been hugged by flowers to keep it from looking cold. Hope that doesn't sound silly. It's magnificent.
Beautiful! I love the contrast between the white flowers and the chocolate icing, and the unstructured-ness of it really appeals to me. I like mgdqueen's analogy about the oak, my feeling exactly :)

I love this cake. Was it hard to get your icing to look so imperfectly perfect? It looks great very earthy looking.
In a place where everyone is trying to get a perfectly smooth case, its refreshing to see texture! Love it! ;-D
