Flower Birthday Cake

This cake was for my daughter's 2nd birthday AND my sister's 27th. I had to do something girly that was ageless. Thanks for the inspiration from CC members I came up with this. Bottom cake was dark chocolate with raspberry filling, top was lemon with raspberry and both are frosted in Sam's club BC.

Cute, how do you get your BC from Sams to go on so smooth? do you add anything to it to thicken it up? I just bought some but I cannot get it to look like that. I hv better success with the Wilton BC recipe, but I hate the taste of it. Sorry for the long post.... :D

kamii_cakes, I have a problem with the BC being TOO thick so I had to thin it out to make it easier to work with. I just added some more flavoring and water or milk. It helps smooth out the bubbles and indentations if you slowly stir the BC around before putting it on the cake. It's like you have to reincorporate it a bit. HTH! Thanks for looking!

I forgot to mention, I also use a white plastic mud knife from Home Depot for my final smoothing. I'm always looking for other methods/recipes because I too hate the Wilton taste, but can't get anything to smooth on really well. The Sam's BC is okay, but I'm still searching.
