Table Cake

Table Cake on Cake Central

This cake was for a convention of Princess House the people that make and sell tableware. The cake served 2,850. Dimensions 12' x 4' 6". Only the top 4" was cake, but the whole table was covered in icing and air brushed to look like wood grain. There were 1/4" x 4" long wooden dowels under each of the items on top of the table to transfer the support off the cake.

I'm wondering what the reactions at the convention were like once they realized it was the cake? It's so realistic they must have been wondering why they had a table roped off. :o

My mouth dropped once I read your description and realized the table was the cake. I am in complete aww of this. I was also looking on the table for the cake. I can't imagine how long it took you to bake enough cake to make this. Just amazing.

Sooo neat. I'd like to see a picture of the cake being eaten: no forks, knives or plates, just a bunch of conventioneers chomping on the sides of the table ;) :P Really, this is fantastic, would love to have seen it in person.

Oh my goodness!!!!!!!!!!!!! I knew from the title that the table was the cake, but 12 feet long? A dang sheet of plywood is only 4'x8'!! Yep, I'm flabbergasted!! You do wow wee work!!!
