This was at the request of my daughters Girl Scout Troup. A Yule log in January. I learned a bit of history and didn't realize the story behind it was that Napolean had banned the use of fireplaces in France and the bakers got creative (imagine that) and made the Yule Log cake in place of burning of the logs in the fireplace for their traditional celebration. Just to get around Napoleans "ruling". Bakers are the best at breaking the rules.. right?? haha TFL!!
