Veggietales Pirate Cake
This is a 3-layer chocolate cake with cookies n cream filling made for my son's 6th birthday. The ship is iced in chocolate buttercream because my son tells me he doesnt like that "super sweet stuff" that I put on top of cakes! The Veggietales characters are crafted from gumpaste as is the sail and the flag. This cake was a HUGE hit!
I love this cake, my son wants a pirate ship cake for his 5th birthday. I love this one. Great job!
This cake was actually made using a large loaf pan and 9" rectangular pan (cut the cake in half after baking then layer), I froze all 3 cakes, then did the filling and then carved the cake down to a boat shape. I used a straight spatular to carve about 1/2 inch into the top of the cake to make it look more realistic
