Mother-In-Law's Birthday Cake
A 10-inch and 6-inch chocolate round cake with chocolate buttercream. This was my first attempt at using a ribbon. (I learned later that most ribbons aren't compatible with buttercream and soak up the grease, but at least it soaked in uniformly.) The roses are silk.
your MIL is going to be so pleased you made this lovely cake for her...the colour combo is very pretty and I really like the way you offset the tiers!!!

It's so pretty. Good job! Thanks for mentioning that about the ribbon, I wouldn't have realized that either about the ribbon with buttercream.
