Little Einsteins Rocket Ship Cake

Little Einsteins Rocket Ship Cake on Cake Central

This was for my daughter's fourth birthday party. It was easier to make than I had originally thought. For me, it came out perfect, and everyone else at the party seemed to think so as well. I was very happy with it, more imporatntly, my daughter was happy too!!!

THANK YOU!!! :D Yes, the cake is covered in buttercream frosting. I colored it the night before and let the color cure before I frosted the cake. I used a 9" round cake pan and the sports ball cake pan, but only one half of the sports ball pan. Then, I cut the 9" round a little in the front to form that soft "v" shape instead of it being completely round. I just cut it with a sharp steak knife. I used twinkies for the side engines and chocolate frosting for the trim work.

:D The picture of the Little Einstein kids is an edible image that I bought on Ebay. I cut it out with a VERY sharp razor blade. I used the other part on the sheet cake that i have listed. The edible images tear very easily so you have work very slowlly and carefully with them. But, it wasn't bad. I think the image was about $8, but I got two cakes out of it.

Thanks for answering so quickly. I just realized I had a second question. How did you cover the sucker and what did you use to make the fins on the engines stand up. I'm assuming fondant but I have never been able to get mine that red, plus the MM fondant is not stiff enough.
