This was a very last minute cake for my Mom's birthday. Probably looks a little odd to the outsider but there is a story behind it! My mom collects what we call "ugly vases" that she picks up in antique stores and estate sales. Her rule is they can't cost more than a few dollars and the uglier the better. So I made her one out of gumpaste in her favorite color. The rose is small because my dad has a habit of picking tiny single blossoms and putting them in bigger vases in the window. Comments welcomed!
