I painted the gingerbread with royal icing before I put it together. some of the hard candy I used started to melt on a humid day and ants found there way to the house by Dec. 31. We had it on display in front of the dining room for about 3 weeks along with 2 other houses. We were going to trash them New Years Eve, But employees ask for all of them so none were put in thre dumpster.
