Bichon Christmas Package

Bichon Christmas Package on Cake Central

I made this cake for our vet. We have two bichons, Cagney and Lacey. Cagney, the male loves to eat tissue so he has a piece in his mouth on the cake. Cagney's head completely slid off the cake once and I had to rebuild the thing. But in the end, it turned out alright. It's the first cake of this kind for me and certainly I learned alot with this one. It's all buttercream except the lid which is styrofoam with MMF covering and the pinecones are royal icing.

Thanks everyone! It actually wasn't hard to do, just time consuming. It would have gone smoother if I had used my head and placed the dogs' heads back a little farther on the cake. That's why I had my landslide. Buttercream alone will NOT hold up that much piped cake. It was also the first time I had messed with fondant but I found that part fairly easy. Our vet loved it!

the dogs' heads are half of a 4 inch round and then their nose is a triangle of scrap cake. The ears are all frosting though.
