Candy Canes & Peppermint Kisses!
Made for a company Christmas luncheon, Spice cake with pumpkin bc filling, all buttercream frosting, purchased candy canes on sides of cake. Aine2 inspired snowman and tree topper. Cake Design itself is straight out of my head. I wanted to make a candy cane border and peppermint kisses and this is what I came up with. TFL!
Thanks everyone!! For the borders I striped a bag with 4 deep lines of Americolor Super Red then filled the bag with frosting. A good way to do this and not mess up the white icing is to pipe the white icing into the striped bag. I fill a bag with white frosting, cut a large tip off the bag then pipe it straight down into my striped bag. The border is made using tip 18, making hooked candy cane shapes as you go.
Oh yes, those borders look great! The cake itself is just delightful. Beautifull done!
I love the red and white borders!

THis is great! How on earth did you get your borders so perfectly striped and uniform??? It looks so tastey!
