Christmas Balls

Christmas Balls on Cake Central

First time I tried these. Saras'a red velvet cake recipe off of CC....YUMMMY! Filled and crumbcoated in white chocolate butter cream dream icing then covered and decorated with rolled butter and dusts. I only had 3 hours total to do these so they were a bit rushed also. Thanks for looking and yes, I didn't have time to make the stems and hook eyes. PLEASE LEAVE ANY AND ALL SUGGESTIONS ON IMPROVEMENTS!!!!

i think these are really nice!! with more time they could be perfect, but remember, people are going to be so impressed because they could never make them themselves! :D

I just love the iridescent shine you got on these, and your snowflake designs are especially cute. Nobody has to know they were supposed to be "ornaments" - they just look like adorable, festive, shiny Christmas treats.

Wow! I think these look great for how distressed you seemed in your post! I love the shine that you have on them. Did you follow the directions on CC? I think that if you had formed your fondant onto something and let them dried first would have helped with the shape, if they are on cupcakes. Also, if you had something a little more stiff for filler that may have helped as well with the shape. I think you should keep trying! Practice now that you don't HAVE to do them! :D

Oops, on the post I said that there were dimples in the fondant--I didn't read that it was rolled buttercream. I think they look good for a first try--and for only 3 hours! The ones I did took me at least 45 minutes EACH!
