Care Bear

Care Bear on Cake Central

I was so happy to get rid of this cake. The first time I made the bear it fell apart when I took out the core. Not much better the second time!

Looks awesome. I was asked today about doing a carebear cake. I have this pan, but I haven't used it yet. So it was pretty rough getting it out of the pan, huh?

To be honest, I'd rather not use it again! I used two recipes from this site, the first was the super enhanced, (which I love!) that one fell apart. The second I used the durable for 3D cakes. I still didn't trust it and ended up leaving the metal core inside for extra stability. Let me know what recipe you use!

Rexy, I bought my Wiltong Teddy Bear tin second hand from the USA, and it arrived minus the core.I have used it many many times without it and never had any problems. The cake cooks well and never falls apart. You can see some of the cakes i used this for in my picture gallery.

boonenati, thanks so much for your input. Must admit I'm so afraid that it will happen again that I hesitate to use it. What recipe do you use? Thanks!
