Thanks for you nice comments! I have to give credit to my mom for suggesting the candy canes on the tree. I piped on little candy cane shapes using white royal icing and a round tip. For the red stripes I used red royal icing that was thinned a bit and made little tiny dots on the candy canes. I used a toothpick to make the red dots look more like stripes. It was a little time consuming but I'm happy with the results!
