I cut a 12 inch square of gumtexed fondant. Then cut 1 inch squares out of each corner. Made light scores for the folds (not to much or they'll break). Folded it over a 10 in square and let it set. I cheated and used a cake board on the underside for support though. Then cut dowels to the height you want to have the box open and I used a skewer driven through the middle to hold it in place. (Hidden by bow) Made sure to put polkas on the corners to help hold them. Hope it helps!
