High School Musical on Cake Central

Thank you so much to KittisKakes not only for the design, but also for her help!! Two 11x15" cakes, side by side. This cake took foreverI I had tons of trouble with the letting--cut the larger letters out of fondant w/ a paring knife but couldn't get nice straight lines and was unhappy w/ how they looked. The rest of the letters were cut out using alphabet cutters from a Wilton set. Photo was printed from the internet, laminated and cut out.

I think it came out great!!! Your letters look good too!! Maybe a suggestion, and I'll probably do this also, cut large letters out a couple of days in advance and then let them harden a little. That may help keep them straight. I'll definitely try that next time! Your borders look great too!! Nice job!!!!

Yes, KittisKakes, that's a great suggestion. I cut my letters out minutes before putting them on the cake and they were really flimsey and hard to move around. One thing I did that ended up being helpful was I did the whole red curtain area the night before I put the letters on so that whole background was nice and "crusted". This allowing me to move letters without smudging the icing.
