This was a 5 tier, 6 8, 10, 12, and 14 in. rounds done in BC. The bottom, middle, and top tier has swirled fondant wrapped around the sides. All heart sprays and flowers done in gumpaste. TFL.
Your design is so original and absolutely exquisite. The marbling effect makes a wonderful contrast and your heart arrangments complement the whole design beautifully. I love it!
thank you all so much for the wonderful comments. This cake originally started out with me attempting choc transfer sheets on it for the first time. I used ghirardeli (spelled wrong) choc. and some parts set up faster than others, so when I put it on the cake, some of it cracked and other parts oozed out, so yikes, we came up with the fondant plan which helped in the long run b/c the choc. trans. seemed a bit too harsh for what we were going for. Any help on the choc. transfer thing would be great!
Funtomake, I think there is several different ways to marble fondant. I am very new to it, this was my first attempt. I just took a roll of white and a roll of choc and mixed them up some but not completely, then I took another roll of white and twisted it with the roll of choc. like a candy cane and rolled it from there.
