I got the inspiration to try these cookies after seeing manatee's, so thank you manatee! About half way through, I got the idea to tint the cookie dough red, which I think helps them look like apples. I rolled some in nuts, and some in "praline crunch" ice cream topping (it comes in a shaker in the ice cream aisle).... the praline ones were so decadent and delicious!
