Shirley-Poppy Faerie

Shirley-Poppy Faerie on Cake Central

Critique Group Member This is a layered eight" chocolate cake with old fashioned chocolate buttercream frosting covered with fondant. The Faerie is based on Cicely Mary Barker's Shirley-Poppy Faerie. A first time for full Australian stringwork and bas relief. Thank you for looking.

Its stunning. The only comment l have is the stringwork (which is perfect) seems to end too abruptly in the design. I understand you probably wanted the space to put the front design on but maybe the stringwork could have tapered to an end (?). The faerie is so amazing and delicate (will you be my mentor!!!)

Beautiful...from top to bottom. Such difficult techniques executed so beautifully. You have an amazing talent.

This is such a beautiful cake and the presentation is so elegant (great stringwork - I have to learn this someday). Thank you for sharing.

this cake is beautiful. It has such a wonderful fantasy look about it.I love the colors of this cake, the moss green is a perfect compliment to the pinks! your stringwork is perfect each on being evenly spaced. Your "snail trail" border looks much better on this cake, very evenly done. (snail trail is so difficult to get each one identical, one of the reasons I seldom use it, too frustrating for me LOL)

critique group member: Beautiful! Stunning! The leaves look so real!! My only suggestion, which has already been mentioned, was that the stringwork did seem to stop suddenly. Perhaps could have been more appealing to the eye if it was tapered off. But again, STUNNING!

Critique Group Member: My only critique has already been mentioned. You did an awesome job on the stringwork. You did amazingly for your first time.

Critique group member: I have one word for you "GORGEOUS!" ! This is so amazing the flowers are so beautiful! I agree though that the stringwork would have looked better in it had tapered off.
