great colors! nice and bright and that is what 8 year old girls love! Since they were for the same party, it might have been better if both skates were the same size or identically shaped. I like the way the bottom border is stitching, nice touch
i agree with snowshoe1 about adding more detail on how you did certain things because I would love to know what you used to make the wheels look so awesome! Everything else is just perfect!

What a fun idea, you really can work out duo issues can't you! Carving is really good, composition ies excellent. Your colors are really bright and I bet the kids had fun looking teeth. :D Now this is me not you but as I stated to another in our group, I prefer the European method of writing on the cake board and not the cake. I will PM you a photo to show you what I mean.And I think using the alpha cutters on fondant much neater.....but this is my issue. Nice cake board color. Overall adorable.
I love 'em and can't find any good constructive criticism for you. I especially like the laces and pom poms. Maybe one thing I would add (I haven't done this in the past but since becoming a gallery supporter realized I wished people did) - that's to add what techniques you used; for example, how did you make those pom poms, etc...I see so many fantastic cakes and think how the heck did they do that. p.s. these cakes made me smile - so thanks!!
