I saw a plant "wedding favor" in Martha Stewart and made it into a mini cake. Chocolate cake in 4" brown paper cup -- royal icing flowers -- cake crumbs for dirt -- fondant leaves and stems.
Thanks, everyone, your comments mean a lot to me! I had some extra cake, so.... I used a 4" biscuit cutter and cut 2 cake rounds, iced between, stacked them in the paper cup, and added crumbs on top for "dirt."
Purple and violets are my favorites!! It looks fabulous. One thing to consider, though, should you do this again, is to add more leaves so the flowers look like they're coming out between the leaves like a natural violet. Otherwise, it does look really great! :D
Thanks, Brujalita (que nombre!), I wondered about that, but then I thought maybe I should show the "dirt" too?
It is beautiful, delicate, and I want to try to make this one day! You did a great job.
Awww, thanks, Win!
that is so cute!
I really appreciate that you gave Martha Stewart the credit for the idea... your work is beautiful and is worthy of being pictured in her magazine.
This is just darling. It needs a sign with it "Do not water!" or better yet " Needs no water, just a tall galss of milk". "
LOL. I like the sign idea!
I am in love with this cake. It is so cute. Such a great idea!!!
Sooo sweet, What a great idea!
Will you explain how you did the cake in the paper cup? This is remarkable, congratulations!!
this is lovely...I adore violets...such a great job on this!!! :)
