In album: wand
This is my latest, 6inch chocolate fruitcake covered in Fondx, details are modelling paste. I borrowed ideas from franjmc, louise and ximenilla.....thanks ladies!
Wings & caterpillar antennae are piped with unbreakable gel. Her wand is made from spaghetti and its star is painted with edible glitter. The fairy dust container was filled with magic sparkles but when I went outside to take the photo, the wind blew it away!
All suggestions and feedback welcome, thanks for looking.

Absolutely Gorgeous! I love the sound of unbreakable gel .... what is it exactly? The wings look so delicate. The fairy is wondeful & all other details complement perfectly.

I buy my unbreakable gel from a cake decorating store here in Western Australia. It comes in a powder form. You add 25ml of water to 2 teaspoons of powder, let it sit for four hours and then pipe. It’s similar to royal icing, but without any breakages. It also shrinks as it dries. I used a number one nozzle for her wings, but as you can see it shrinks to an 0 or even a 00. It is an edible product, I have also used it to make butterflies which you can see in my other photos.

Fabulous cake Natasha. I just love the little caterpillar creeping up behind the fairy.

Wow, what a gorgeous little fairy! Perfect finish on the cover! Which store did you buy this 'unbreakable gel' powder from? I gotta have some! (I'm also in WA)
