This was for a cake walk at my kids' school, medieval theme, inspired by a design in Colette's Cakes to Dream on. I used 12 different luster dusts and it was my first time really painting (and using lemon extract, which ROCKS), and I had a ball doing it! Thanks for looking!
OMG, I love it! did you used a special cutter for the tulip? Great job on your first time painting.
I cut a template from a copy of the page in Colette's book for the tulips. The rest was freehand cutting.
Just stunning and elegant! Wow, I REALLY like it.
way to go on your auction sale! i really like the hint of marbling- it gives a nice antiqued look. you did a good job on all the appliques and painting. nice border too!
Cool side note--this cake ended up going into the silent auction instead and went for $108.00 (my suggested retaill value.) :)
Just saw this, it is lovely, your work is very good.
