I made this cake for the 2007 SC State Fair taste competition. It won 1st place in it's category (Other non-refrigerated cake not listed) and it won best non-refrigerated cake. This was my first time entering in the taste portion of the fair. I was floored to win best overall! The cake is basically a butter pecan cake with buttercream and glazed pecans between the layers. The outside is a basic carmel icing and I made little pralines to go on top. Thanks for looking!
