1/2 chocolate 1/2 cherry flavored cake. Baked in wilton book pan. Covered in Fondant. writing is from William shakespears Macbeth (double, double, toil and trouble.)Candle is made of melted chocolate. skull is styrofoam and snake is rubber.
Absolutely awesome, what a cake, I love it, actually won at a speech festival with that speech when I was still in school, would've LOVED to receive a cake like this one at that time
I love this cake! Hope you don't mind, I'm going to try my version of it for a cake order due tomorrow. Guess I should have gotten started by now, huh? :D
Thanks everyone! To make the candle I used a Canoli roller (metal tube) wrapped the bottom in aluminum foil and sprayed the inside with cooking spray. I filled the Tube with melted chocolate, then froze it for 10 min. It popped right out! Then I squeezed chocolate all around to look like dripping wax. The wick is just a cut toothpick that was colored with black food coloring.
This cake is truly awesome. I had to stop and just study it. I will be trying to make this cake (of course you get all the credit). Awesome!

Beautiful, colors combination, great job
Very cool cake! How did you get the color of the pages to look so perfectly "aged?"
thanks everyone! To get the color I mixed yellow and brown food coloring into the fondant, a little at a time until I got the color I wanted.
O and also I watered down a little black food coloring and painted the dark spots on the pages.
Thank you, I doubt I'll do yours justice, but I loved doing it anyway!
Amazing!
thank you! This is my 3rd cake using fondant so your comments are really appreciated!! :D
