In album: shoe
When my boss asked me to do a beach theme cake for his wife, it was going to be on a 1/2 sheet. I had already made the hat and sandals when he asked me to make it an anniversary cake as well. Since the anniversary theme was pearls, I was able to tie them in together. This was a really fun cake and I am happy with the way it turned out.

Wonderful!! How did you make that hat? It has to be real.

The hat and sandals are fondant. After forming over a small round cake, I let it sit and dry for about 3 days. I dusted them with cocoa powder to look worn. The shells are chocolate. I used candy molds and luster dust. Thanks everyone for the boost!!!

GREAT shells! They look very real and very beautiful. This is such a great idea, to combine the two events into a single cake.
