It didn't take too long. It's the football shaped pan put onto a 9x13 cake. The grass takes a few minutes to get used to how much pressure and pull to do but once you get going it goes by fast. Thanks so much for the nice comment!
Beautifully done!! I took the Wilton classes and they said stars are a really easy way to decorate a cake. Oh, really?! Try piping 10,000 of them neatly and consistently!! You did just that and it looks amazing!!
Thank so much everyone. I did just put the football flat onto the 9x13 and then started to decorate. I would suggest piping the football at the base and then butting up the grass as close as you can. Work outwards from the football for the grass. I didn't use a brown colour but rather chocolate buttercream.
Great looking cake, I just got a call for this kind of cake today. I will use yours as a ref.
nice job. your stars are so nice & straight - I can never seem to get mine in a straight line like that! ;-D
That is pretty awesome. How did you do the grass, and how long did it take you to make?

Great job! The football looks so large, did you have to support it in some way or just sit the football cake directly on top of the sheet cake?
Great cake This is what my grandson is getting for his birthday this weekend!
