Amazing! Never heard of a bride doing her own cake, much less having the time to do it. Simply amazing that you did this and did it so well too!! Great job!!!
Yes it is silver on the bottom tier and the bow on top. I used silver lustre dust and pearl dust painted on to make it silver. Then I accented the diamond shapes on the bottom and the piping on the other tiers with silver dragees. I hope you like it! Thanks for responding.
this is such a beautiful cake, and you taught yourself how to do the fondant, I haven't worked with it yet and was thinking about doing my birthday cake with it. Did you read any books or you just jumped into it with a design in mind?
I spoke with a Wilton Instructor, who suggested I buy the Course 3 book and a small box of fondant and go home and play with it to see if I even liked it. I think it's fun, but it's very time consuming and takes up lots of space. It's not that hard though...you should try it! Thanks for the comments :)

Yes, the bow is fondant and the curlie-q's too. I painted the bow with lustre dust to make it silver.

Thank you so much!
It's beautiful and just amazing you did it for your own wedding!
Thank you. Yes, I did it for my own wedding and I had no previous experience or training in fondant--I taught myself
Is it just the picture or is it silver? If so, how did you get the fondant silver? Will the luster dust tint it?

This is awesome. You are truly gifted!!
ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS!!
Amazing! I am frazzled doing other people's weddings, let alone thinking of doing my own.
how did you apply the luster dust for it to be that dark a silver?
I used a small amount of vanilla extract and painted the areas with two coats. I used NuSilver mixed with Super Pearl.
