Slot Machine Cake

My first carved cake for my mom's birthday made out of 3 1/2 sheet cakes. I was really excited to do this one but got pretty discouraged and didn't have anymore "heart" after my mom seen me icing the sides and back in "black" she got really negative and it just emotionally drained me and I just wanted to quit. Anyways here it is finished half heartedly, I'm sure I could have done better (the reasons for the balloons on the side is cause of her complaining about black) :(

Who said that mothers opinions are always correct? This is amazing!!! I came here looking for examples of sloy machine cakes to do and I love yours the most!! Keep you head up and try to keep peopel out of your kitchen before a project is finished. Question: Was the cake supported by anything? Did the top of the cake stay sturdy throughout or did it sway a little?
