Those stars will kill ya!! A couple of things I learned since I started - store bought frosting isn't as stiff as homemade buttercream and won't hold the "shape" as well. and the type of bag you use can make a differnce. I tried using the plastic disposable ones but the heat from my hands transfered through and made the frosting softer...I use the parchment ones - they don't conduct as much heat...
