Here's a cake I made for my husband's uncle's 50th birthday this past weekend. it stood 17" sall. It was made from 4 6 inch cakes (2 amaretto mud cake, 2 almond scented butter cake) all filled w/ amaretto-espresso and mocha IMBC. All decos are fondant and gumpaste (even the rings!) TFL

great cake! How did they cut that?
heavenlycakes 9/26/07 at 1:36pm
lizzie - it was constructed wedding cake style - you have to separate each cake with a board and dowels... and I was the lucky cake cutter... fun fun! lol

Very nice job. Did you have to do one big piece of fondant and wrap around the tower of cake?
ceshell 9/26/07 at 4:36pm
Great cake! Your golf bag is amazing and the gold accents are perfect..

Price - VERY nervous!! flg22275 - I did wrap it around, not over. the cake. I rolled the fondant out to the appropriate height and width, rolled it around my pcb pipe and rolled it around the sides, pressing to the cake as I went.

Truly Amazing. I'm not a big golf person but you did an excellent job. It would be excellent for a golf lover.

Okay..what's a 'pcb pipe'??? Wow! Wow! Awsome cake! Was it your first time? The clubs and rings were gum paste right?/ oKAY , OKAY....I am done with questions...lol What an art!
jules06 9/26/07 at 11:37pm
Superb !!! you're very clever :D

Cancook - sorry, I thought I wrote pvc, apparently dislexia kicked in and I hit the wrong key.. It wasn't my first bag - I have another one in my gallery. And the rings and buckle were gumpaste - everything else was fondant. Bakinboi29 - I'm not a golf person either, but it's about what the clients want, right? The client is a huge golf fan and his party was at a golf course hence the golf bag.
