I finally resorted to aluminum foil. I tried to make them edible and no matter what I used they would break b.c of how far they stuck out. I was so frustated and an hour before it was due I gave in and made them non edible. they were then wrapped in gumpaste and then stuck onto the dowels running thru the cake.
not that you will ever have the opportunity to try again . . . but did you try rice crispys on the dowel by any chance??? Either way . . . great job and you beat the odds and "gotterdone"!!! ;-D
I did, and the weight kept breaking them. I think they just stick out soo far. And thanks. If I had it to do again I would come up with something. I keep thinking about it. ;-)
