Fair Entry
This is my very first fair entry. It was kind of funny, because I won first place,but I was the only one to enter a decorated cake. Well, except for the junior competition. It kind of deflated me a little, but oh well! Im very happy with the results. It's all MMF, with the leaves painted with aztec gold luster dust. I mixed some with water to get the sheen on the pumpkins. All inall, im very pleased with it.

Sorry you had to win that way but it is a nice cake, I really like the design. My dd (5) said, "Ohhhh, that's a great cake!"
Nice job, looks great. Did you make the pumpkins? I have a wedding cake for next month and the bride wants pumpkins and leaves in fall colors.I was going to try to make the pumpkins out of gumpaste.

Yes, I did make the pumpkins from MMF. They were the easiest part! :) I just rolled the MMF into sortof a ball shape (I didnt make it perfectly round, because, I dont think I've ever seen a perfectly round pumpkin!) and used a skewer to make the indentations on the sides. The leaves were made using the Wilton mini leaf cutters. BTW, I got the inspiration for this cake from cakes I had seen here on CC. I dont remember, who exactly, but I just want to say thanks! :D
