Stacked Suitcases
This was for my son's "stag and doe" party last night..the cake was a huge hit ...they are going to Greece for honeymoon so I did the phrase book on the top from an edible image..scratch buttermilk choc cake and choc bc filling/icing and choc fondant. buckles and handles are gumpaste..CC's copper lusterdust on the straps, handles and luggage tag..gold for the buckles. Thanks to all the great suitcases posted...copied and inspired by them!!! Thanks for looking!!
Your cake is beautiful! So perfectly done - I'm sure it was a hit!
Great cake, love the hardware.
very nice hun, very nice indeed!!
Great cake! You did a great job on the details!
OMG ! LOOKS JUST PERFECT !! :)
thanks for the super comments!! I just wanted to say that you could use a piece of macaroni painted gold for the hardware on the luggage handles...as I was painting it occurred to me...so thought I would share that little tip!
Gorgeously done!
That is awesome!!!
These are INCREDIBLE! WOW!
wow! so realistic!!

What a great job JaneK. How did you get the ichocolate fondant so shiny? What brand did you use or did you make it yourself. Love it. Into my favourites.
jane, you did an incredible job on this cake, the details are great.
Umm...WOW...other words fail me! 8O Way cool cake!!
Fantastic work! So realistic! The talk of the party to be sure!!!
great job. :) It looks so real. I'm glad it was a huge hit at the party!!
Greatest suitcase cake by far!!!!!
Briarview, I used McCalls chocolate fondant and I smoothed it like the Aine2 video she posted..with my hands in circles..the warmth from hands makes it nice and shiney...it's easy to roll out just on masonite..minimum icing sugar and my silpin...it's great to work with...thanks for the great comments!
Oh Jane how cool is that. Awesome as always. :D
