Punk Rock Wedding Cake

This was my first wedding cake, and what a disaster! Not sure if I'll ever do another topsy turvy after this, but if I do, it will be after I have a lot more experience at doing cakes! The bride & groom loved it, though... and that's all that really mattered... :)

Do not give up. This cake is delightful. Certainly can say you pulled off a unique design and very well, indeed. Good Job.

alisoncooks: Thank you so much! The skulls are royal icing. I found the photo I needed of them, printed them out in the size I wanted, then placed waxed paper over top, then royal icing in 3 colors traced over the skulls. It was a lot of fun!

Also, going with the punk rocker theme - the fondant circles had anarchy symbols indented on them.

woodthi32 - thank you so much, I appreciate the words of encouragement and the compliments! I just had such a hard time getting it to even look this nice, it ended up being SO different from the original design. It fell apart on me and I found it sliding at 6:00 am the day of the wedding. I salvaged what I could, and rebuit it and reiced. It was definitely scary!

hey, now don't be hard on yourself! It's adorable/whimsical and a great design. I love it! LOVE the pink bows on the skull & crossbones.............
