This is meant to be a cake topper.  It's made completely out of royal icing and a lot of patience!  I did it just to see if I could...fun!

Update: Many have asked for the instructions to creating this Eiffel Tower.  In an effort to respond to all of those numerous requests, I have created a file link on my website.  Go to www.confectioneista.com and click the Eiffel Tower picture on the "About" page and download the instructions.  Enjoy!

Eiffel Tower

I made this following the directions from the American Cake Decorating issue of October/November 2006. I'd be happy to pass along the directions if there's no infringement issues.

And, no I'm not the mom doing this for her daughter's wedding. But kudos to her! I saw hers that she drafted on her own - awesome! As for the time it took, it was about 3 days to allow for drying. Actually, it's a lot easier than it looks to make. The directions were very good. The "patience" part was actually putting the pieces together, kind of like doing a house of cards...if you mess up, try, try again. It's worth it!
