My daughter is going to have her 4th birthday in December and wants a frog cake, and when I showed her this cake...well, now she wants this cake. Please share how it's done. She loves all things reptilian!
Thanks for the comments! My daughter was speechless when she saw it. The construction of the frog is: 2 cakes made in stainless steel bowls (bottom side up) stacked on top of eachother. The face was built up with fondant, then covered. It was a lot easier than I thought it would be...I didn't have to anchor it at all. Very stable. :) :)
I'm also making this cake from Debbie Brown's book for my daughter's 3rd birthday next weekend. Can I ask you for a few more construction tips. Did you use a dense pound cake or a regular cake mix? Did you use wilton fondant or homemade fondant? You said you didn't have to anchor it. So you had no problems with the head staying on? Or with the legs and arms being too heavy? Thanks.
