Since Godiva doesn't seem willing to share her secrect on the lettering, I am going to guess that it is stenciling done with a luster dust! Too bad she doesn't feel like sharing since that what the website is all about!!!
I thought I was being cutesy with that reply...My plans were to build a pictorial how to with this cake, but I have not had a chance to bake anything at all. I'm sorry you felt that way MrsMissey. And it's not a stencil, it's actually a silk screen that I had made at art store. I'll be posting more details when I have time for it. Thank you all for you kind comments.
MrsMissey, lighten up, Godiva's response seemed like a 'jokey-reply' to me. Maybe my sense of humor is more KEEN than others but we still need not be offended. I'm glad you did share your method, Godiva, I was also going to try the stencil-approach. Still, both suggestions seem like great approach to this beautiful cake. Thank you both!
I would like the to know how you made the filling & fondant also. How long was the entire process? It's am aawesome likeness, but I'm not sure what a "new world translation is". Who did you make it for?
It's a bible I made for some friends...The filling is like a custard based cream, that is then whipped with butter...You can easily find a recipe either here or online...The fondant is pre-made chocolate fondant, that was rolled out and then cut to shape...
