Strawberry Shortcake And Friends

I am practicing for the fair. I am entering them. any ideas on how i can make them better? NFSC with royal icing. These were fun but i had to make over 18 different colors. Not sure what i was thinking before starting these! they were fun though! I made one without the black outline to see how it looked. but i do not like it. I accidently forgot the noses on a few. that was just a mistake!

I noticed that I liked the ones on the left better than the ones on the right. I think it's because of the black outlining - just makes it look better. But they are soooooooo cute! Good luck at the fair.

I like the ones outlined in black better as well-although they are all very cute. The black outline makes the colors "pop" Good luck at the fair-let us know how you do.

They look great. I'm sure you'll do well at the fair. Did you make the cutters? I like the black outline too. I like how you did the hair waves on them too.

These are excellent! I like the older ones better too, but probably because that is what I grew up with. These look like blue ribbons to me! =)

Okay, definitely agree that you need to outline in the black for the whole thing. It gives it more of a cartoonish, coloring book look when you do that, I think. Also I would thin out your frosting a little bit so that you will get a smoother texture on areas like their hats and such. I usually thin mine to the point that it will blend back into itself within a three count. Also I would add a nose to all of the characters. I find that coming back in with a toothpick....to be cont.

dipped in americolor once the icing dries is the "safest" way to add a tiny little nose. These are really cute though and I think you will do great! Let us know when you get your ribbons. =)
